Background

In Estonia's boba tea market, there was an opportunity to create a more user-friendly, visually appealing, and accessible online experience for customers. Recognizing this potential, I set out to design a website that would elevate the digital experience for boba tea lovers in Estonia, focusing on engagement, accessibility, and a user-centric approach.

Competetive analysis

After researching where to purchase boba teas in Estonia, I discovered that only two vendors have an online platforms — Bobatee and Hips.

Pain points

After trying out all the features, I noticed the pain points. These areas gave me ideas for improving the new app design.

Bobatee

  • Language restriction to Estonian limits accessibility
  • Unclear clickability on certain buttons causes confusion
  • Visual challenges with yellow text affect readability

Hips

  • Visual inconsistency may limit broad appeal and professionalism
  • Lack of company information diminishes customer connection
  • Key content available only in English

Persona development

Crafted persona for this fictional project without direct user research, relying on industry knowledge. While not rooted in real user data, persona offers valuable insights for a user-centric approach to guide the design process.

Design question

How can the user experience on the boba tea website be enhanced by improving language accessibility, refining visual aesthetics for a broader audience, and ensuring clarity in interactive elements to minimize user confusion?
